Brett is a certified personal trainer with National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). He is from Colonial Heights Virginia where he was a 4 time varsity letterman in baseball as a left handed pitcher before graduating in 2008. Following graduation from Longwood University, Brett spent 2 years playing in Independent Leagues while chasing the dream of playing professional baseball. In 2014 he played for the Trinidad Triggers of the Pecos League of Professional Baseball, and in 2015 he played for the Skagit Valley Lumberjacks of the Mount Rainier Professional Baseball League (no longer in operation).
Following the 2015 season, Brett decided it was time to hang up the cleats and move back home to Colonial Heights where his family lives. Fueled by his athletic background Brett began pursuing a career in personal training. He has experience training a wide variety of clients including athletes, those with a desire to lose weight, and also clients needing rehabilitation/strength training following an injury.
Although he enjoys working with clients from all types of backgrounds, he has a heart for working with the youth. Being from the area, he knows the types of distractions that can hinder a student athlete from fulfilling their full potential. It is his desire to not only help his clients to perform better on the field, but to also assist in their growth off of the field.
In addition to being a personal trainer, Brett is the Youth Leader for the Prince George Youth Group (Verge) at Destination Church located in Hopewell, Va. He also speaks weekly at Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) meetings in Prince George, Va. When he isn’t training you will most likely find Brett at Destination Church involved in some sort of activity, studying for his pastoral credentials, or you might catch him at the softball fields with his family and friends.
Brett’s Life Verse:
“for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
